UPDATE: Two Suspects Arrested, One Sought in Assault, Kidnapping at 8800 Lake Forest Boulevard

July 9, 2013 - Houston police have arrested two suspects and are asking for assistance in locating a third suspect wanted for questioning in the assault and kidnapping of a female at 8800 Lake Forest Boulevard about 2 a.m. on June 30.

The male wanted for questioning is identified as Justin Darreal Johnson (b/m, DOB: 7-29-92).  A March 2013 photo of Johnson is attached to this news release.

The two other suspects, Roy Dean Griffin (b/m, DOB: 6-17-93) and Delton T. Sidney (b/m, DOB: 3-21-92), are in custody and charged with kidnapping in the 180th State District Court.  Photos of both males are attached to this news release.

The female victim, 28, suffered non life-threatening injuries and escaped from the suspects.

The suspects were described only as black males, 20 to 25 years old.  One (Sidney) was not wearing a shirt, had a Cowboys flat top cap and khaki shorts.  A second suspect, the driver (Johnson), was wearing a gray T-shirt and black shorts.  The third suspect (Griffin) was wearing a blue Adidas T-shirt and had a short dreadlocks hair style.

On July 3, investigators released surveillance video of the suspects on the HPD YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQoreIkEWo4

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants M. Jewell, M. Dillingham and E. Cisneros reported:

The victim was involved in a verbal argument with her boyfriend at a convenience store at 9430 Mesa at Tidwell.  She proceeded to get into a vehicle, possibly a dark colored Lexus, with three unknown black males and was then driven around the Lakewood Subdivision.  During this time, the woman was physically assaulted and a rape attempt was also made before she was able to flee on foot from the three male suspects.

An investigation revealed the suspects and victim were seen on surveillance video at the Time Saver convenience store at the above address on Mesa.

After investigators released surveillance video to the public, a Crime Stoppers tip led to the identities of the three wanted suspects.  Sidney and Griffin were arrested on Monday (July 8) without incident.  Griffin had changed his appearance and cut his dreadlocks since the day of the incident.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Justin Johnson is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.
