Suspect Arrested, Others Sought in Fatal Shooting at 6634 Westwick

May 20, 2013 - Houston police homicide investigators have arrested one suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in locating three others wanted in connection to the fatal shooting of a juvenile male and adult female and wounding of an adult male at 6634 Westwick Drive about 4:15 p.m. on May 13.

Bobby Austin (b/m, DOB: 3-5-90) is the lone suspect in custody and charged with capital murder in the 337th State District Court.  The same charge has been filed against a second suspect, Jerome Dewon Godine (b/m, DOB: 12-21-90), who is not in custody.  Two other males, Desmenn Demond Simon (b/m, DOB: 8-26-87), also known as “Torch” and Donte Earls (b/m, DOB: 11-7-89), known also as “Tay,” are wanted for questioning in the investigation at this time.

Two victims, Le "Lena" Nguyen, 29, and Brandon Vu, 10, of the above address, were pronounced dead at the scene.  A third victim, Hoai Tranh Vu, 40, of the above address, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he remains in critical condition.

The three victims, Ms. Nguyen, Mr. Vu and his son, Brandon Vu, were found inside their residence.  All had suffered gunshot wounds.  According to witnesses, two unknown black male suspects were seen leaving the residence in a hurry and getting into a gray passenger car, possibly a Chevrolet Monte Carlo.   

The motive in this shooting incident is believed to be drug-related.
