HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Harris and Senior Police Officer M. Waters III reported:

The male victim left the Yellowstone Hall, at the above address, intoxicated and got into a red Chevrolet Impala that did not belong to him. The owner of the Impala was made aware of the victim sitting in his vehicle and confronted the victim, while attempting to get him to get out of the vehicle. The owner of the Impala then left the scene in the car. Witnesses then called for an ambulance for the victim, who was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he later died.
