UPDATE: Surveillance Video in Man's Death at 16282 Imperial Valley

November 6, 2013 - ***PLEASE NOTE TIME AND LOCATION OF INVESTIGATOR AVAILABILITY***

Houston police have released surveillance video and are asking for the public's help in identifying two suspects wanted in the death of a man at 16282 Imperial Valley about 8:35 p.m. last Saturday (Nov. 2).  

The suspects are described only as black males, possibly in their mid 20s.  One was wearing an orange hoodie with camouflage pants.  The other suspect was wearing dark or black colored shorts, a white T-shirt and a camouflage jacket.

The victim, Pablo Hernandez, 46, of Houston, suffered blunt force trauma and was transported to Houston Northwest Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.  A photo of the victim is attached to this news release.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant E. Cisneros and Senior Police Officer H. Chavez reported:

Mr. Hernandez was at a car wash at the above address washing his 2007 Hummer when he was approached by two unknown black male suspects.  The suspects beat him with a gun while attempting to rob him.  They then fled northbound on Imperial Valley in a silver Chrysler PT Cruiser.   

Anyone with information in this case or on the identities of the wanted suspects is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.  

At 10 a.m. TODAY (Wednesday, Nov. 6), a homicide investigator will be available to answer questions regarding this investigation in the first floor Media Briefing Room of HPD Headquarters at 1200 Travis.  

NOTE:  MEDIA PERSONNEL MUST ENTER THE BUILDING THROUGH THE PUBLIC ENTRANCE AT 1200 TRAVIS, GO THROUGH THE METAL DETECTORS AND PRESENT A VALID IDENTIFICATION BEFORE BEING ESCORTED TO THE BRIEFING ROOM.
