Investigation into Woman Found Deceased at 12666 Rip Van Winkle

November 15, 2013 - Houston police are investigating the death of a woman found after a fire was extinguished at 12666 Rip Van Winkle abaout 2:40 a.m. today (Nov. 15).  

The victim has been identified as Patricia Graf Cromer, 71, of the above address.  Her cause of death is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers M. Miller and T. Miller reported:  

HPD patrol officers on routine patrol saw a fire at a townhome complex at the above address.  Officers immediately evacuated all residents in other nearby units.  HFD personnel responded to the scene and immediately extinguished the fire.  Ms. Cromer was found deceased inside her residence by HFD emergency personnel.  

The incident is being investigated by the HPD Homicide Division and the HFD Arson Unit.  

At this time, there is no indication foul play was involved in Cromer's death.
