November 22, 2013 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 6900 North Loop East (North Interstate Highway 610 East) about 10:25 p.m. on Thursday (Nov. 21).  

The deceased female, 26, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where she was pronounced dead.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant T. Trometer and Officer J. Best reported:  

According to witnesses, the victim was driving a gray 2006 Chevrolet Impala the wrong way, westbound on the North Loop East and struck a gray Mercury Grand Marquis traveling eastbound on the freeway.  The driver of the Impala was taken to the hospital where she died.  The male driver of the Grand Marquis suffered minor injuries.  

It is believed alcohol was a factor in the accident.  The investigation is continuing.
