Suspects Arrested, Charged in Infant's Death at 8125 Mills Road

November 22, 2013 - Charges have been filed against two suspects arrested in the death of an infant at 8125 Mills Road about 11 a.m. on Monday (Nov. 18).  

The suspects, Leonardo H. Pereira (H/m, DOB: 4-1-86) and Judy Marie Cedillo (H/f, DOB: 3-21-93), are charged with injury to a child-serious bodily injury in the 338th State District Court.  Both are accused in the death of baby Alyssa Cedillo, 5 months, of the above address.  Alyssa suffered multiple fractures, bruising and head trauma and was transported to Texas Children's Hospital where doctors pronounced her dead on Tuesday (Nov. 19).

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants P. Jewell and M. Dillingham reported:  

On Monday (Nov. 18) HPD patrol officers responded to a meet-the-firefighter call at the above address and found baby Alyssa had been transported to Willowbrook Memorial Hospital.  After preliminary findings revealed life-threatening injuries, the baby was transported to Texas Children's Hospital where she died.  

On Wednesday (Nov. 20) Pereira and Cedillo were questioned by investigators and admitted to their involvement in baby Alyssa's death.  They were taken into custody without incident.
