The victim, Wilfredo Salinas Reyes, 34, of Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K. Tolls and Senior Police Officer R. Cervantes:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the "Casa Blanca" club at the above address. When officers arrived, HFD paramedics were on scene and had pronounced Mr. Reyes deceased.

Further investigation determined Reyes was inside the club with his common-law wife and several other witnesses when Reyes got into a disturbance. Reyes and the others in his group were then escorted out of the club. Once outside, Reyes and a male suspect got into an argument. The suspect then pulled out a handgun and pointed it at Reyes and the other members in his group. The suspect then retreated to his vehicle, got in and drove toward where Reyes was standing. The suspect stopped and both individuals again argued. During the argument, the suspect pulled out his gun and shot Reyes.

The suspect, described only as a Hispanic male, fled the scene in a silver Mercedes.
