September 09, 2013 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man and the wounding of another at 4005 Hollister about 9:20 p.m. on Sunday (Sept. 8).

One victim, Hernan Hernandez, 24, of Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene.  A second man, 30, was transported to an area hospital with a non life-threatening wound to the arm.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant H. Garcia and Officer C. Cardenas reported:

The victims were among a group of people in the parking lot of a strip center at the above address when a fight broke out between several people.  During the altercation, one of the males fighting produced a gun and fired several times at another male but missed him, and instead struck the two bystanders. 

At this time, there is no description of the shooter.
