UPDATE: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 2100 Hardy Street

April 29, 2014 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man found at 2100 Hardy Street about 1:20 p.m. on April 17.  

The suspect, Michael Duran Demas (b/m, 34), is charged with capital murder in the 338th State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Dan Ibarra, 34, of Houston, who was pronounced dead at Ben Taub General Hospital.    A photo of suspect Demas is attached to this news release.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Rodriguez and Officer M. Burrow reported:  

According to witnesses, Mr. Ibarra was shot while inside a silver car with two unknown male suspects at the intersection of Noble and Hardy.  He was then pulled from the vehicle and left in the street.  The suspects then fled the scene in the silver vehicle.  

Further investigation identified Demas as one of the suspects.  He turned himself in at HPD headquarters last Friday (April 25) without incident.  A second suspect, indentified only as a black male, remains at large.
