Suspect Wanted in Kidnapping/Auto Theft Incident at 8601 West Bellfort

August 27, 2014 - Houston police are asking for the public's assistance in locating a male suspect wanted in an auto theft and kidnapping of four children at 8601 West Bellfort about 6:15 p.m. today (August 27).

Officers responded to a stolen vehicle call at the Jack in the Box restaurant at the above address and discovered the vehicle taken was used as a daycare transportation vehicle for JTD Transportation.The female driver went inside the restaurant, leaving the GMC sport utility vehicle running with four children, ages 3 through 6 years of age, inside the vehicle.

An unknown Hispanic male with curly hair, glasses and wearing a blue shirt was seen getting into the SUV and driving off.Witnesses stated the male might be homeless.

The stolen vehicle is described as a silver, 2009 GMC Acadia with Texas license plates DCN8277.

Anyone with information on the location of the vehicle or in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.

Investigators are at the scene of the incident.No other information is available at this time.
