Update: Suspects Arrested, Charged in Male's Death at 5100 Gasmer

December 5, 2014 - Charges have been filed against two suspects arrested in the death of a male found at 5100 Gasmer about 6 p.m. on Nov. 18.

The suspects, Taylor Lynn Coyledean (w/m, 21) and Carlos Martinez (H/m, 22), are charged with murder in the 248th State District Court. They are accused in the killing of Joseph Angel Ramos, 51, of Houston, who died at the scene. Photos of both suspects are not available for release at this time.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant N. Ruland and Senior Police Officer S. Spivey reported:

A citizen reported seeing a possible body in the pond at Willow Waterhole Greenway Park at the above address. Patrol officers arrived and called for the HPD Dive Team to recover the body. An autopsy by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences identified the victim as Joseph Angel Ramos and determined his cause of death to be strangulation and blunt force trauma.

Further investigation determined Mr. Ramos' 2010 BMV and other personal items were stolen during the incident. Coyledean and Martinez, both associates of Ramos, were later identified as suspects in this case. Both men were arrested last Friday (November 28) in Los Angeles, California. They were found to be in possession of Ramos' BMW and other stolen property. Coyledean and Martinez are currently in the Los Angeles County Jail awaiting extradition back to Harris County.
