December 10, 2014 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 8145 Record about 9 p.m. on Tuesday (December 9).

The victim, Carl Goines, 45, of Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant P. Jewell and Senior Police Officer T. Miller reported:

Mr. Goines got into an argument with an unknown suspect and, at some point, the argument escalated. As a witness tried to remove Goines from the scene, the suspect pulled out a pistol and fired several shots at Goines. Goines attempted to flee but fell a short distance away and died from his injuries. The suspect then fled the scene in a small, four-door, light-colored vehicle with a female passenger.
