December 22, 2014 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man found at 4900 Eastland about 7:30 a.m. last Friday (Dec. 19).

The victim, Channing Butler, 35, was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer T. Tyler and Officer S. Sylvester reported:

Residents in the area of the above address reported hearing gunshots at approximately 7:30. A male, later identified as Mr. Butler, was then found deceased on the side of the road shortly after the gunshots were heard. At this time, there is no known suspect(s) nor motive in the shooting.
