January 21, 2014 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 5600 Antoine about 1:30 a.m. on Monday (Jan. 20).

The victim, Kenneth Jones, 20, of Houston, was later pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K. Tolls and Senior Police Officer R. Martinez reported:

Mr. Jones and an unknown black male suspect got into an confrontation, which appears to have originated on a sidewalk outside the fence of the Oakwood Garden apartments at the above address.  It appears Jones was shot while on the sidewalk and then ran into the apartment complex to escape from the suspect.  He collapsed on the patio of one of the apartment units and was not discovered by a passerby until about 7 a.m.
