Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 3400 Rockyridge

January 22, 2014 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman at 3400 Rockyridge about 3:20 p.m. on Tuesday (Jan. 21).  

The victim, Merlyn Yolibeth Perez-Orellana, 24, of Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants E. Cisneros and W. Meeler reported:  

Ms. Perez-Orellana was walking north along the sidewalk at the above address when an unknown male suspect approached and shot her multiple times.  The suspect was last seen running west on Pagewood from Rockyridge.  

The suspect is described only as a Hispanic male, 20 to 30 years of age, about 5 feet 6 inches tall with a stocky build.  He was unshaven and wearing a zip-up style turquoise coat, blue jeans and black shoes.
