July 7, 2014 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 7700 Richmond about 2:30 a.m. last Friday (July 4).

The identity of the female victim, 25, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Roseman and Officer J. Best reported:

According to witnesses, the victim was driving a gray Ford Focus westbound on Richmond at a high rate of speed when she attempted to pass a vehicle and lost control, left the roadway and struck two large trees.  The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.  It is believed alcohol was a factor in this accident.
