Houston Police Department
Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 1400 Greens Parkway

March 20, 2014 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man and wounding of a juvenile male at 1400 Greens Parkway about 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday (March 19).

The victim, in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  The other male, 15, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in good condition.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant T. Simmons, Senior Police Officer B. Evans and Officer L. Wright reported:

The juvenile male went into a convenience store and attempted to get change for a $20 bill.  When the clerk was unable to do so, the juvenile left the store and asked a person in a group outside the store to break the bill.  The money was  taken from the juvenile, who then left the location and went to his residence.

Once at his residence, a family member of the juvenile contacted the juvenile's cousin, the cousin's brother and a third unknown male.  The four males then went back to the convenience store in an attempt to determine who took the money from the juvenile.  As the four males drove away from the convenience store, several shots were fired from a wooded median at Greens Parkway at Fall Lake.  The vehicle was struck several times by the gunfire and two males inside the vehicle were struck.

The suspects are described only as black males in their mid to late 20s, in unknown clothing.

Anyone with information in this case or on the identity and whereabouts of the suspects is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
