UPDATE: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 3600 McKinney

May 8, 2014 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 3600 McKinney about 4 a.m. on April 28.  

The suspect, Sandra F. Berry (b/f, 45), is charged with murder in the 185th State District Court.  She is accused in the killing of Houston Edwards, 53, of the above address, who died at the scene.  A photo of suspect Berry is attached to this news release.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants C. Cegielski and C. Smith and Senior Police Officer C. Scales reported:  

Houston Fire Department personnel responded to a car fire at the above address and found the victim inside.  He appeared to have been shot.  

Evidence from the scene, as well as witness statements, identified Berry as the suspect in this case.  On Wednesday (May 7), Berry was interviewed by HPD homicide investigators and subsequently charged for her role in Edwards' death.  The investigation is continuing.
