May 20, 2014 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 9400 Galveston Road about 4:20 p.m. on Sunday (May 18).

The male victim, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Lopez and Officer C. Washington reported:

The victim was operating a red Suzuki motorcycle southbound in the 9400 block of Galveston.  As he approached the intersection of Dumas Road, the driver of a white Hyundai Accent turning northbound onto Galveston Road failed to yield the right of way and pulled in front of the motorcyclist.  The motorcyclist struck the Hyundai and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital.  He was pronounced dead on Monday (May 19).

The investigation is continuing.
