Investigation into Shooting at 9390 FM 1960

May 29, 2014 - Houston police are investigating the wounding of two victims and the suicide of a male suspect at 9390 FM 1960 about 8:55 p.m. on Wednesday (May 28).

The identity of the suspect, 46, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  He is accused of shooting two people, a 62-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman who were transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant T. Simmons and Officer L. Wright reported:

Officers responded to a shooting in-progress call at the above address and found the suspect had shot his rommates (victims).  The suspect then barricaded himself inside the apartment with the female victim.  Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT)  team and the Hostage Negotiation Team (HNT) both responded and were able to get the female victim out of the apartment.  HNT attempted to get the suspect to surrender.  During negotiations, officers heard a gunshot.  At that time, entry was made and the suspect was found deceased with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
