Investigation into Fatal Traffic Accident at 3400 West Loop South

November 12, 2014 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 3400 West Loop South (West Interstate Highway 610) about 10:55 p.m. on Tuesday (November 11).  

The female victim, 29, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her Identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant I. Izaguirre and Officer M. Reyes reported:  

The victim was traveling westbound in a gray Hyundai Tuscon when her vehicle became disabled in a moving lane of traffic.  According to witnesses, the victim was standing in front of her vehicle with the hood open when a gray Lexus IS 250, also traveling westbound, struck the Hyundai.  The impact pushed the vehicle forward and knocked the victim off the overpass.  

Further investigation determined the male driver of the Lexus was not impaired.  He was questioned and released with no charges filed in the accident.
