November 20, 2014 - Houston police have learned the identity of a woman found deceased at 6900 Madrid about 8 a.m. on Wednesday (Nov. 19).

Investigators with the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences have identified the victim as Melanie Denise Tanner, 37.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants J. Burton, M. Brady and Officer D. Fontenot reported:

Residents walking on Madrid Street saw Ms. Tanner's body in a ditch.  Paramedics arrived and pronounced her deceased at the scene. Tanner had suffered stab wounds.

There are no known witnesses nor suspect(s) at this time.
