Investigation into Man Found Fatally Shot at 8000 Riptide

November 24, 2014 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man found in the 8000 block of Riptide about 12:25 a.m. on Sunday (Nov. 23).

The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Officers M. Dykens and J. Young reported:

Officers were dispatched to a traffic accident involving the death of a male outside a residence at the above location.  Investigators determined the man was shot in the 12000 block of White Cap Lane, causing his vehicle to accelerate westbound on Riptide, into the backyard of a residence in the 8000 block of Riptide.

At this time, the suspect is unknown and possibly driving a dark colored sport utility vehicle.
