November 17, 2014 - The death of a female at 166 Winkler Drive at 6:50 p.m. on Friday (November 14) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The identity of the female suspect, 21, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Harris and Officer W. Gilbert reported:

Officers responded to a report of an assault in progress at the above address.  Upon arrival, witnesses stated the suspect had attempted to assault a female, who was eight months pregnant, by stabbing at her.  The pregnant female's husband, in an attempt to protect his wife, disarmed the suspect and then stabbed the suspect multiple times.  The suspect was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
