October 6, 2014 - A man critically injured in a traffic accident at 2200 Lockwood about 5:10 p.m. on September 20 has died.

The victim is identified as Robert Bakke, 56, of Houston.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Lopez and Officer B. Mark reported:

The driver of a white Dodge Ram pickup truck was traveling north on Lockwood when he struck a pedestrian (Mr. Bakke) attempting to cross the street, not at a crosswalk. Bakke was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead on Saturday (Oct. 4). The driver of the pickup truck was questioned and released without charges filed.
