September 22, 2014 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 5443 Garden Village Drive about 12:50 a.m.on September 5.

The suspect, Hunter Ryan Hamilton Woods (w/m, 18) is charged with murder in the 232nd State District Court.  He accused in the killing of Barrett Shirley, 22, of the above address.  A photo of Woods is attached to this news release.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. McStravick, Senior Police Ofiicer T. Andrade and Officer M. Arroyo reported:

Mr. Shirley was in front of his residence at the above residence when he was shot.  He then ran inside where he collapsed and was pronounced dead at the scene.  Further investigation led to the identification of Woods as a suspect in this case and, on Friday (September 19), he was arrested without incident.
