Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 9602 Marlive Lane #8

February 9, 2015 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a woman and the apparent suicide of her estranged husband (suspect) at 9602 Marlive Lane #8 about 6 a.m. on Saturday (Feb. 7).

The victim, Beatrice Bravo, 33, of the above address, suffered a gunshot wound to the face and was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

The suspect, Eduvino Hernandez, was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Harris and Senior Police Officer M. Waters reported:

HPD SWAT and Hostage Negotiation Team members were called to the above address after Hernandez shot his estranged wife, Ms. Bravo. Seriously wounded, Bravo and her children were able to escape from the apartment through a bedroom window. Hernandez remained barricaded inside and, unknown to responding SWAT officers, cut and then shot himself prior to the officers' arrival. Upon making entry into the apartment, officers found Hernandez deceased.
