January 9, 2015 - Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the fatal shooting of a man at 8145 Record about 9 p.m. on December 9.  

The suspect, Dewan Anderson (b/m, 35), is charged with murder in the 262nd State District Court.  A photo of Anderson is attached to this news release.

The victim, Carl Goines, 45, of Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant P. Jewell and Officer T. Miller reported:

Mr. Goines got into an argument with an unknown suspect and, at some point, the argument escalated.  As a witness tried to remove Goines from the scene, the suspect pulled out a pistol and fired several shots at Goines.  Goines attempted to flee, but fell a short distance away and died from his injuries.  The suspect then fled the scene in a small, four-door, light-colored vehicle with a female passenger.  

Further investigation developed information that identified the suspect as Anderson.  On Thursday (Jan. 8), Anderson was arrested without incident.
