Investigation into Fatal Traffic Accident at 6400 Southwest Freeway

January 22, 2015 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run traffic accident in the 6400 block of the Southwest Freeway (South U. S. Highway 59) service road about 3 a.m. today (January 22).  

The male victim, a pedestrian, was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Rossman and Officer A. Hart reported:  

A witness called police to report a body in the roadway on the southbound service road of the above address.  HFD paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.  Further investigation determined the victim had injuries consistent with being struck by a motor vehicle.  

At this time, there are no known witnesses nor suspects.
