January 30, 2015 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 5900 Lockwood about 12:10 a.m. today (Jan. 30).

The identity of the deceased male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Rossman and Officer M. Rios reported:

The victim was driving a black Toyota Camry southbound on Lockwood when he drove over the median.  His vehicle went on its side and was then struck by a red Chevrolet 3500 pickup truck traveling northbound on Lockwood.  The victim (at-fault driver) was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver of the pickup truck was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
