UPDATE: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 4506 Hoffman

July 15, 2015 - A suspect charged in the fatal shooting of a man at 4506 Hoffman about 7 p.m. on March 20 is in police custody.

Dantrell Stills (b/m, 22) is charged with capital murder in the 262nd State District Court.  Also accused in the crime is Gregory Pinnekins (b/m, 20), who suffered a gunshot wound and was later pronounced dead at Ben Taub General Hospital.  A photo of Stills is attached to this news release.

The victim, Damian Smith, 30, of the above address, was transported to LBJ General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant H. Garcia and Officer C. Cardenas reported:

Two unknown black male suspects entered Mr. Smith's residence and shot him.  The suspects were seen fleeing the scene in a silver-colored SUV.  Paramedics transported Smith to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Additional information led to the identification of Stills and Pinnekins as suspects in this case. It is believed Pinnekins suffered a gun shot wound when Smith defended himself during the robbery.  An acquaintance transported Pinnekins to East Houston Regional Hospital, and later Ben Taub General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Officers continued to search for Stills until he was arrested by the Harris County Sheriff's Office on July 11 for unrelated felony charges.
