Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 6203 Beldart Street
July 21, 2015 - Houston police are investigating the apparent murder/suicide of a male and female at 6203 Beldart Street about 11:45 a.m. on Monday (July 20).
The female victim, Maria Gomez, 43, of the above address, suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her husband, the suspect, Lorenzo Gomez (H/m, 41), suffered an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound and was also pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer J. Villareal and Officer R. Lujan reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting in-progress call at the above address. Upon arrival, they found HFD EMS personnel at the scene and the couple deceased inside their home. A weapon was also located at the scene.
Investigators are awaiting results of autopsies to be conducted by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
