Investigation into Fatal Crash at 7500 South Freeway

June 8, 2015 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred at 7500 South Freeway (State Highway 288 South) about 3:10 a.m. on May 29.


The two female victims were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A. Thomas and Officer M. Tamez reported:

The female driver of a black Nissan Rogue and her three female passengers were traveling southbound on Highway 288 when the driver began to weave from lane to lane. She then lost control of the vehicle and went off the roadway. The Nissan went up a hill beneath the Holly Hall overpass and struck one of the cement pillars, causing the vehicle to overturn. The driver and one passenger died at the scene. The two other females were transported by HFD paramedics to an area hospital in an unknown condition.

The investigation is continuing.
