Investigation into Fatal Crash at 100 Southwest Freeway

June 8, 2015 - HHouston police are investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred at 100 Southwest Freeway (South U. S. Highway 59) about 11:30 p.m. on Sunday (June 7).


The male victim, 35, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A. Thomas and Officer L. Galvan reported:

The victim was operating a gray Kawasaki motorcycle northbound on the entrance ramp of the South Freeway (State Highway 288 South) to the North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) when he failed to control his speed and lost control of the motorcycle. The motorcycle then went over the Highway 288 entrance ramp overpass and landed on the Southwest Freeway. The victim was struck by a gray Toyota Tundra pickup truck and several other vehicles and died at the scene.
