Investigation into Fatal Crash at 2600 South Loop West

June 22, 2015 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 2600 South Loop West (South Interstate Highway 610 West) that occurred about 10:10 p.m. on Saturday (June 20).


The identity of the male victim, 45, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Roberts and Officer T. Branford reported:

The victim was operating a blue Suzuki motorcycle eastbound on the South Loop when he was struck from behind by a dark colored SUV. Witnesses reported the victim was then thrown from his motorcycle and struck by at least two other vehicles. The drivers of all three vehicles fled the scene without stopping to render aid. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
