Update: Suspects Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 4221 Yellowstone

June 24, 2015 - Houston police have arrested three suspects charged in the fatal shooting of a man at 4221 Yellowstone that occurred about 9:45 p.m. on May 29.


One suspect, Jalen Coby (b/m, 19) is charged with capital murder in the 228th State District court. Two additional male suspects, both juveniles, 16 and 15 years of age, have been referred to the Harris County Juvenile Probation authorities on charges of capital murder. The victim, Kenneth Flemings, 59, was pronounced dead at Ben Taub General Hospital.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M.A. Holbrook and Officer K. McDonald reported:

Mr. Flemings and his wife were closing their convenience store (at the above address) for the night when an unknown black male suspect armed with a gun confronted and shot Flemings. The gunman and two other unknown black male suspects fled the scene. Paramedics transported Flemings to the hospital. His wife was not injured.

Further investigation, in cooperation with the Houston Independent School District Police Department and some school faculty, led to the identification of the suspects. On Tuesday, (June 23), all three suspects were arrested without incident.
