Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Crash at 5100 Irvington

June 29, 2015 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal crash at 5100 Irvington about 2:10 a.m. on Sunday (June 28).


The suspect, John Anthony Galindo (H/m, 48) is charged with felony driving while intoxicated (3rd time) in the 177th State District Court. A photo of the suspect is not available at this time.

The identity of the deceased female victim, 46, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A. Thomas and Officer Y. Haq reported:

Galindo was operating a black Honda motorcycle traveling north on Irvington when he struck a female pedestrian crossing the street. Paramedics pronounced the woman dead at the scene and transported Galindo to Ben Taub General Hospital where he is still being treated for non-life threatening injuries. Galindo was determined to be intoxicated and was subsequently charged.
