Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 9601 West Montgomery

March 20, 2014 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 9601 West Montgomery about 12:10 p.m. on Thursday (March 19).
 
The victim, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Meeler and Senior Police Officer J. Villareal reported:  

The victim was inside his vehicle, parked near the 200 building of the Garden City apartments at the above address.  A male suspect then approached the vehicle and shot the victim.  The victim drove away from the scene as the suspect continued to fire shots at him.  The vehicle then crashed into a fence near the entrance of the apartment complex.  HFD paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.  

At this time, there is no known motive for the shooting.  

The suspect is described only as a black male, about 20 years of age, 5 feet 11 inches tall, with a slender build.  He was wearing all black clothing.
