Fatal Crash at 1000 State Highway 6

May 7, 2015 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 1000 State Highway 6 about 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday (May 6).
 
The male victim, 53, was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Rossman and Officer R. Bymaster reported:  

The driver of a gray Mazda 6 was traveling westbound on Briarhills Parkway and turned northbound onto Highway 6.  The Mazda failed to stay in a single lane and crossed into the southbound lanes of traffic.  The driver of a white Toyota Camry, traveling southbound on State Highway 6 then struck the Mazda.  The driver of the Mazda died at the scene.  The male driver of the Camry, 60, and his female passenger, 46, were transported to Methodist West Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  

Further investigation determined the driver of the Mazda was at-fault in the accident.  An open container of alcohol was also found inside the Mazda.
