Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Crash at 3600 Fulton

May 26, 2015 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested following a robbery and a fatal crash at 3600 Fulton about 3:30 a.m. on Sunday (May 24).

The suspect, Danney Lee Gonzales (H/m, 38), is charged with murder in the 182nd State District Court.  A photo of Gonzales is not currently available, pending further investigation.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A. Thomas and Officer T. White reported:

The suspect, Gonzales, and his male passenger, 28, had just committed a robbery and were fleeing in a black Lexus sedan.  The suspect lost control of the vehicle and struck a METRO utility pole, killing the passenger.  The suspect, Gonzales, fled on foot.  HPD officers located him at the address to which the vehicle was registered.  He was found to be injured from the crash, transported to St. Joseph Medical Center for treatment and subsequently charged.

The identity of the deceased robbery suspect is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
