Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 3617 East Lockwood



November 10, 2015 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a female at 3617 East Lockwood about 9:20 p.m. on Monday (November 9).  

The suspect, Lloyd Gipson Carter (b/m, 34) is charged with murder in the 176th State District Court.  He is accused in the killing of Dominique Tibedeaux, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Officers L. Bailey and T. Ferguson reported:  

Ms. Tibedeaux and her ex-husband (Carter) got into a dispute while at the above address.  At some point, Carter shot at Tibedeaux as she fled in the direction of her mother's apartment.  Carter continued to fire his weapon and Tibedeaux was struck.   Carter then fled the scene on foot.  Tibedeaux was found deceased at the door of her mother's apartment. 

Further investigation developed information on Carter's whereabouts.  He was later taken into custody in the 1600 block of the South Loop West without incident.
