Update: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 9902 Gulf Freeway



October 20, 2015 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 9902 Gulf Freeway about 10 p.m. last Thursday (October 15).  

The suspect, William Ivan Cedillos (H/m, 34), is charged with murder in the 176th State District Court.  He is accused in the killing of Todd Delford Duncan, 48, of Houston, who died at the scene.  A photo of suspect Cedillos is attached to this news release.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Harris and Senior Police Officer M. Waters reported:

Patrol officers were dispatched to a shooting call at the Travelodge Houston Southeast hotel at the above address and found Mr. Duncan inside a room.  He had several gun shot wounds.  Paramedics arrived and pronounced Duncan deceased at the scene.

Witnesses reported seeing a silver or white four-door sedan leaving the location shortly after the shooting.  

Further investigation and numerous tips from area residents identified Cedillos as the suspect in this case and a warrant for his arrest was issued last Friday (October 16).  On Monday (October 19), members of the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force located Cedillos in the 8100 block of the Gulf Freeway and he was taken into custody without incident.
