Fatal Crash at 3500 Genoa Red Bluff Road
August 29, 2016 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 3500 Genoa Red Bluff Road about 12:05 a.m. today.
The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant I. Duplechain and Officer G. Anderson reported:
Witnesses stated three motorcycles were speeding eastbound on Genoa Red Bluff and ran the red light at the Space Center Boulevard intersection. Two of the motorcycles cleared the intersection. The third motorcycle, a black Kawasaki Ninja operated by the victim, struck a black Kia Optima, whose driver had the green light. The motorcyclist, 29, was transported to Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Kia showed no signs of intoxication and was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
