HPD Robbery investigators reported:

One suspect dressed as a UPS delivery driver rang the residence's doorbell at the above address.  The suspect was holding a package and claimed to need a signature.  When the homeowners opened the door, the suspect, along with three other masked suspects, entered the home and assaulted the male victim with a pistol.  At some point during the struggle, a shot was fired but no one was struck.  Two other females in the residence grabbed the two small children present at the time and were able to lock themselves in closets.  The suspects then stole several pieces of jewelry, collectible firearms and then fled the scene in one of two possible vehicles; a dark-colored, four-door sedan or a white four-door sedan.

The male victim suffered severe neck and head injuries and was transported by HFD paramedics to Memorial Hermann Hospital.
