UPDATE: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Man's Death at 901 Uvalde


January 15, 2016 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the death of a man at 901 Uvalde about 10:30 p.m. on January 6.  

The suspect, Maxwell Knupple (w/m, 18), is charged with murder in the 248th State District Court.  He is accused in the death of Joshua Boatman, 36, of Houston.

HPD Homicide Division Officers T. Colbert, D. Crowder and Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant C. Williams and Officer A. Hart-Joseph reported:  

Mr. Boatman was in a private parking lot at the above address when he was struck by a blue Ford Mustang.  HFD paramedics responded to the scene and transported Boatman to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.  The driver of the Mustang was questioned and released at the scene, pending further investigation.

Further investigation and evidence was presented to the Harris County District Attorney's Office and a murder charge was filed against Knupple on Monday (Jan. 11).  He surrendered to authorities without incident on Wednesday (Jan. 13).
