UPDATE: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Stabbing at 5900 Bissonnet

July 15, 2016 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal stabbing of a man at 5900 Bissonnet about 4 a.m. on July 2.

The suspect, Dajour C. Wilkerson (b/m, 19), is charged with capital murder in the 263rd State District Court.  A photo of Wilkerson is attached to this news release.

The victim, Alireza Kheyrandish, 59, was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Turner and Officer J. Nguyen reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a person down call at the Azalea Place apartments at the above address and found the victim unresponsive in the parking lot.  He had sustained stab wounds.  The victim was later identified as Mr. Kheyrandish, a cab driver for Lone Star Cab Company.

An investigation determined two men were picked up by Kheyrandish's cab as fares.  The males attempted to rob him, fatally stabbed him, and then stole Kheyrandish's cab.  It was recovered the next day (July 3) at 6650 Dunlap.

Further investigation led to the identification of Wilkerson as a suspect in this case and, on Thursday (July 14), he was arrested without incident.  A second suspect remains at large.  He is described only as a black male, 25 to 30 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds, with a dark complexion and muscular build.  He goes by the street name "Reaper."
Anyone with information on the second suspect's identity or whereabouts is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
