Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 5314 Palmetto


July 30, 2016 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man and a woman that occurred at 5314 Palmetto about 2:20 a.m. on Friday (July 29).  

The suspect, a juvenile male, 16, has been referred to Harris County Juvenile probation authorities on a capital murder charge.  
The female victim, 42, was pronounced dead at the scene.  The male victim, 43, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.  The identities of both victims are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants K. Daignault and B. Chebret and Officer J. Dodson reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and made contact with two juveniles inside the residence.  Officers entered and found the male and female in their bedroom.  Both had sustained gunshot wounds.  There were no signs of forced entry to the residence.  

Further investigation identified the juvenile male as the suspect in this case.  He was taken into custody and subsequently charged.
