Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 3300 Jewel Street


July 5, 2016 - Houston police are investigating the apparent fatal shooting of a man found at 3300 Jewel about 2:15 a.m. on Saturday (July 2).  

The victim, believed to be in his mid 40s, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.  His identity and cause of death are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer L. Bailey and Officer R. Lujan reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address and found the victim inside a vehicle with a possible gunshot wound.  He was transported by HFD paramedics to the hospital.  Witnesses told police a gunshot was heard in the area and they found the victim inside of the vehicle.  

The suspect is described only as a black male, about 6 feet 4 inches tall with a slim build.  He was wearing a yellow shirt and blue jean shorts.
