Surveillance Video of Suspect Wanted in Theft at 11805 Westheimer Road

July 8, 2016 - Houston police have released a surveillance video and are asking for the public's help in locating a suspect wanted in the theft of a laptop computer that occurred  at 11805 Westheimer at about 3:55 p.m. on June 6.

The suspect is described only as a Hispanic male in his late 50s to early 60s with salt-and-pepper gray hair.  He was wearing glasses and is approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall.

Surveillance video of the suspect can be viewed on the HPD YouTube channel at https://youtu.be/3CasIPECmEQ.  Surveillance photos of the suspect are attached to this news release.

The victim was at the Starbucks at the above address when he left his laptop bag, containing his laptop and other personal items, on a table unattended when it was stolen.

The victim then returned to the same location on June 10 when he saw an unknown male carrying the same laptop bag as the one he had stolen from him a few days earlier.  The victim followed the male to a vehicle and attempted to question him about the bag.  At that time, a second male exited the location and got into the driver's side of the vehicle.  The victim was able to take pictures of both males, as well as the vehicle they were driving.

Officers reviewed surveillance video of the initial theft on June 6 and compared it to the photos taken by the victim.  Officers confirmed they involved the same suspect.

Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Burglary and Theft Division at 713-308-0900 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
